Emma's Nursery
Oh sweet, Emma Faith! What a surprise it was when we found out this spunky little lady was going to be a big sister! Due to the fact that we do not have a 7 bedroom house (I can dream for that someday, right?! ha!), sharing rooms is required. Our house squeeks by as a 5 bedroom home. One of the bedrooms being a small, closet-less, office, that we have used as a nursery for years now. And another small bedroom is the one to be madeover that was once a playroom and also lacks a closet.
So, in reality, our house is more like 3 bedrooms with two offices. But that is just fine! We may not have a room for all our 6 kiddos but we don’t mind. We have made it work with the boys bunking together and the older to girls now sharing after one of our most recent makeovers. (Maybe one day I’ll get a blog put together on the details of their room!)
Anyways, back to Emma’s Nursery Makeover!
To make this makeover a little more fun I decided to put together 4 design options and let Instagram vote. While putting this together I fully thought I knew which design would be picked, my favorite one, the Mature Whimsical.
Turns out I don’t know my Instagram followers like I thought I did! The Boho themes took 88% of the votes with the Boho Whimsical taking 58% of all votes. My favorite theme only got 2% of the votes!
But even though I definitely wanted the least voted on theme, because I decided to allow the voting to occur Boho Whimsical is the theme that will go with!
Final Design!
I had to make one final mock up design board before jumping in to finish this nursery.
And here is how it turned out!
I am just in love with how this room came together! If you want to see the full process feel free to check out my story highlight on IG labeled Emma’s Nursery. As with all projects some items were swapped out from the original plan, like the sconces! I didn’t realize the first ones I ordered had a dimmer on them and wouldn’t work with my ‘magic light trick” so those had to go! But the ones I found to replace them ended up being even cuter with a fun pleated shade.
Now for the links I keep getting requests for. Simply
The following didn’t make the cut but I wanted to include them incase you think they would fit in your space.
I loved how the dresser turned out in Emma’s room. It was a hand-me-down gift from my niece’s room makeover. After being stored in the garage for over a year it was perfect fit. So I included a few dressers that had I now already had one to repurpose I would have considered.
